  1. 12 July 2026 · corrected by Emir Baycan

Courchesne et al. 2003 brain-overgrowth study was published in JAMA, not NEJM (matches the article's own reference list)

    Before

published in the New England Journal of Medicine, analyzed head circumference

    After

A 2003 study by Eric Courchesne and colleagues at the University of California San Diego, published in JAMA, analyzed head circumference growth curves in 48 children with autism and 113 typically developing controls.

Why: Verified: body text correctly reads "published in JAMA" and the bibliography entry ("Courchesne, E., Carper, R., & Akshoomoff, N. (2003)... JAMA, 290(3), 337-344") is also correct.

No stale "New England Journal of Medicine" attribution remains for this study anywhere on the page (the only other NEJM mentions refer to the unrelated, correctly-cited 2002 Madsen MMR-autism study), and the FAQ schema does not reference this citation. No further changes needed.
